KEY ATC SHOWCASE.

Hello and welcome to the showcase for our 'KEY 'ATC challenge that was set in November.

Lorri kindly offered to be our ATC designer for the challenge even tho her mum was very poorly.

Sadly Lorri's mum passed away from cancer , Lorri I know I can speak for all of us when I say we are so sorry to hear your sad news and that we send our love to you and your family.

Take care Lorri and remember all those happy times you shared.

In My last post I said there was still the last of the Halloween swaps to come and for some reason I thought that there was more but after looking through the file I see we have shown all 20 sets of them,

A HUGE THANK YOU to you ALL well done, please give yourselves a pat on the back I think this is the most we have had take part in anyone challenge THANK YOU I was thrilled to receive sooo many.... and not forgetting Martina our October ATC designer.

Hope that you all had a lovely Christmas..... I also want to thank so many of you for taking part in the December challenge 'A WINTER'S DAY' considering just how busy you all are...there is still time to get yours in if you want to take on the challenge just let me know that they are on the way.

Denise's pink ATC's

2 weeks ago I tried scanning these 4 ATC's sent to us from Denise in SAfrica

However the scanning was not in the least bit kind to them and so today I have played around with my Christmas pressie ... a new camera... ( thank you Chris for teaching me how to use it...some of it I forgot and needed to get the instruction manual out again) any way I am pleased with the results although I know there is so much more to learn...

The pics do give you an Idea as to how much detail there is.

Here is the start of our Numbers Challenge the 2 above have been created by Cathy Hirst, Cathy they are stunning, such style I love the backgrounds and the use of gold embossing. Thank you.
Our next 2 have been created by Sharon Ward and as a school teacher they are very apt, they really are gorgeous and if you were lucky enough to receive one of Sharons in the swap you will know that the scanner didnt do them any favours...sorry Sharon.

Good morning Denise in Dubai.. missing u loads,
'Shop 'till u drop' is possibly my fave ATC I have ever received from my dearest friend Denise, she sent it to me some months ago, I love her use of the Green Shield Stamp as it brings back so many memories from the taste of their glue to sticking them into the books.. It seemed to take for ever to save enough just to get a set of those blue plastic food containers which all 'stacked' inside each other... and that was a BIG selling point... and why I ask myself would it be as if they were in the 'fridge filled with left over food' which incidently is thrown out on bin day... LOL, would you want to stack them inside each other...it's a bit like the food adverts.. every year we have a 'NEW IMPROVED FLAVOUR' and after a few years the next thing they are advertising is 'ORIGINAL FLAVOUR' ... If its been improved why would we want to go back to the original flavour.. yuk...???? Answers on a postcard please :))
This is me using some postage stamps which I bought in a pack from WHS however I did mean to return them and never got around to it... you know how it is...I was returning them because when I got them home I looked on my receipt and see the price...almost £10... WHAT! I hear you say ..yes!.. exactly.. I thought I had paid nearer £4 but that apparently was the price of the small pack of postage stamps they were selling.. they just happen to be in the wrong place on the shelf... my own fault as I wasnt wearing my glasses.. well thats not quite true.. I was but not on my eyes... they were on my head. Moral of the story ... check prices on everything it's not the first time this has happened to me... on more than 1 occasion I have paid for the same item twice

Still, I used 2 of them when I made this ATC using some freebie teal velvet ribbon and the brown rikrak I received from Karen of 'scrapz uk' the background was cut from a postcard that holds special memories of a holiday in Granada.

more recycling... cant help myself.

The owl and the pussycat..
The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat.
They took some honey, and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up at the stars above,

This was Sharons first entry into an ATC swap we are pleased that she took on the challenge, she chose a poem about 'Angels' by the famous poet William Blake, She used an angel stamp from Tandastamps.. see their link on the right.

...The Lady of Shalott was cursed and imprisoned on an island.
She wove a colourful web on a loom.
She looked at the world through a reflection in a mirror.
She wasn’t allowed to cast her eyes on the knights who rode by on their way to Camelot.
One day Sir Lancelot rode by and HE WAS GORGEOUS!
She couldn’t resist a look and ‘pow’ the curse was on her and her mirror cracked.
She climbed in a boat, sailed down the river and died.

All of that for just one look, thats worrying!!

Jabberwocky

Lewis Carroll was born Charles Dodgson on January 27 1832 in Cheshire, where his father Charles was a vicar. His parents moved to Croft near Darlington and Charles attended Richmond Grammar School in Yorkshire which just so happens that my oldest 2 children attended the same school for a short period during the time we lived in Catterick, it was outside of our catchment area but after setting an entrance exam they got in.
Talking about getting into your chosen school my oldest grandson Curtis went for an informal interview today to get on the uni course he wanted and the interview turned into his entrance interview, he was given a place there and then, unconditionally, can you hear me cheering? We are so proud of him.. huge smile on my face as there were only 24 places available, these students will have 3 tutors working with them for the 2 years it will take to complete the 'Film and Production' course. There are only 5 colleges throughout the country offering this. Curtis has always from an early age wanted to produce films he has been writing music and lyrics for so long and his primary school music teacher from Northallerton always said about Curtis to watch this space... and so Mrs Burns if you are reading this you will be proud of him, do you remember when he wrote a poem for/about you and you hid in the store cupboard so the class didn't see you crying. LOL. Curtis was in shock today for a few hours after his interview and of course we are all sooo proud of him you couldn't tell... Love you Curt.
OK, back to this fab ATC, sorry but I was a little side tracked for a moment but I think that's ok today, don't you?
